Packers fans in Paris celebrate the most wins ever in the NFL. All while beating their oldest rival, Chicago Bears, at the same time!
Paris Packers fans gathered at Le Tennessee Sunday night. We had to fight off World Cup watchers and insist that American Football was the only REAL football. We promise team USAβs dismal showing earlier this week vs. the Low Countries had nothing to do with it! With prime viewing secured (Merci, Daniel) Paris Packers fans were thrilled to watch the um-teenth thumping of the Chicago Bears. The Packer’s odds of a playoff appearance may be over but for a mathematically insignificant chance, but we hold our heads high, this week.
And, given next week is a bye, we get to ride that high into extra time. This is also fortunate as Johnny Paris is heading to Chicago in just a few days and will be sure to strut Michigan Ave in the Green and Gold. Donβt worry, Iβd keep my eyes out for snowballs, but we already know about the aim of Bears and Bears fans. The ball tends to go right into the arms of the Packer’s Defense!
Thanks also to Maria and Camilla at Le Tennessee for keeping the taps open for Paris Packers fans. Where else can you watch the NFL upstairs and get live jazz in the basement? Maybe nowhere! The slightly-accented rendition of Katy Perryβs βI keessed a girl and I liked eetβ definitely made the trip to les toilettes more entertaining.
In the end, certain immutable facts of the universe were reinforced. Aaron Rodgers βstill ownsβ the Bears. And, of course, as all my children know, The BEARS STILL SUCK!
