Week 2 Packers Fans in Paris Recap
A big crowd was out for Packers vs. the Jetless Wonders at O’Neil. The usuals were there including longtime WOS-denizens Kathy and Leo. Lots of visitors in Green & Gold. Appleton, Eau Claire, Madison, and a bunch of tiny Wisco towns were all representing. Supporters from San Diego, some lake spot near Minneapolis and others were also in the house. Two brave Jets fans, apparently lost, were greeted with hugs and kisses. It’s clear: the Titletown Europe SEO engine is working. Shout out to Aayahuasca Andy!
The game did not start too well. After a forgettable first quarter, aside from the injuries to our guys, the Pack stormed into a 7-0 lead before mostly focusing on committing penalties. At halftime, we’d nearly had enough. We move outside to toss the pigskin around Rue des Canettes. Amazingly, 100% completion percentage! PY has the hands!
Return to the game to find the Jetless Wonders were up 17-7 at the start of the fourth quarter. At that point I believe the offense had all of 50 yards passing. The flipside: Squandering a fourth quarter lead ain’t possible if you’re starting from way behind.
But the Pack digs deep. Skyy Moore flies. Trey Smack boots it through the uprights. Van Ness makes a mess of Geno’s dropbacks. Where was this team for the first three quarters? Doesn’t. Matter. Pack gets the walk off win in OT and Paris fans get a week off from social media negativity.
